Mambe Waterproof Blankets were created by Matt and Margaret, parents of three kids and lifelong pet lovers. Like many families, we wanted to enjoy life with our kids and pets without constantly worrying about spills, muddy paws, or accidents ruining the furniture. So, in addition to outdoor blankets, we designed and sewed the early Mambe furniture covers right in our own home — it was the perfect solution for a chaotic home with 3 kids, 3 dogs, and 4 cats. Today, Mambe continues to be family-owned and committed to helping other families live more comfortably, without the stress.

Which blanket should I get?

Great question! Start with our high level guide here: Help Me Decide. The Furniture Cover, Silky Throw, and Non-Slip Pet Blanket are all 100% waterproof. The differences are in the type of fleece they're made with, the sizes, and the colors.

What size is best for my furniture?

We highly recommend using a tape measure to measure your furniture and then select the size that gives you the desired coverage. In some cases, two smaller sizes may be better than one very large size. Just let us know if you still have questions and we can make a recommendation for you.

How do I wash my blanket?

Spot Cleaning

Use a damp sponge or rag to clean small areas. Enzyme-based stain and odor removers should be used to treat any bodily-fluids before washing an entire item.

Machine Washing

Wash separately in plenty of tepid water. Use mild detergents.

Avoid fabric bleach, fabric softeners and dryer sheets.

Tumble dry on warm or low temperature settings.

* Large items may require periodic re-positioning to remove water trapped during wash and/or dry cycles.

Are they worth the price?

Mambe Blankets are not cheap, disposable products that are designed to be short lived. They will serve you for many years. Quality materials and craftsmanship do initially cost more than the alternative, but over time, they pay back in spades - in terms of time and money saved, replacement products avoided, and overall peace of mind. Two of the most common themes in our many customer reviews is "I wish I got a Mambe years ago", and "worth every penny".

Where are they made?

We used to make everything here in the US, but over the years, we have become more of a hybrid US/overseas manufacturer now – mainly because either the actual fabric mill moved overseas, the machines that do the laminating do not exist in the US, or the cost is too prohibitive for the relatively low volume we make. The manufacturing locaion varies depending on the blanket: either Washington State in the USA, China, or Korea. We took great care to find our manufacturing partners, ensuring they are top tier in all the areas we care about – fabric quality, craftsmanship, environmental regard, and working conditions/pay. They are OekoTex Certified, a global standard of quality and safety.
